BK Integrated Technology Limited t/a BK Bioscience is pleased to announce that it is the exclusive Caribbean agent for new, European Union developed a low cost, high accuracy, high specificity rapid result Covid 19 Test solutions. BK Bioscience is headed by Barbados Tech Entrepreneurs Leonardo Kunar and Ian Brathwaite.
In the case of the Covid 19 Test Kits, they are easy to use and give a rapid 15-minute result with high specificity, sensitivity and accuracy. These Covid 19 test kits are cost-effective and conform to European Union Directive 98/79/EC on in-vitro-diagnostic devices. This has been made possible through a joint venture/distribution agreement with a biomedical distributor in the UK and a major European Union Manufacturers of Diagnostic solutions.

Until now, PCR has been the gold standard in testing for the novel SARS-CoC-2 virus, which causes COVID-19 (colloquially known as “coronavirus”) infection. However this type of laboratory test costs several hundred euros per suspected case, and results can sometimes take days to obtain. With laboratories increasingly overburdened, this tendency is growing. In-vitro diagnostics can help. Rapid tests deliver accurate results within 15 minutes and are significantly more cost-effective than a lab test.
